Description

Inspired by real sculpting, Argil is an intuitive VR application for Oculus Quest with hand tracking. Argil enables quick and effective creation of organic 3D objects using your hands and fingers. It offers various easy-to-use tools that feel like manipulating real clay in your own hands.

We tried to create a hand-tracking app that would be not just fun but useful. This is a perfect tool for beginners, 3D-designers, kids, developers, and everyone interested in the natural VR control.

The sculpting tools are: push, pull, carve, smooth, add different frequency noise, add/remove resolution, free-draw a mesh in 3D. Other features include: changing colour, material, adding different objects (cube, cuboid, sphere, sheet) to the scene, changing environment. Possibilities include exporting OBJ for 3D-printing or for incorporating them in any other 3D environments.

This is a demo of a future VR sculpting experience, that would include both hand tracking and controller support.

To install it on your headset:

1. Donwload an .apk file;

2. Use SideQuest to sideload the application on your headset. Or use https://sidequestvr.com/app/4814 to donwload it directly from SideQuest.
